“Life After Twilight” Special Announcement from The Mortal Instrument’s Cassie Clare AND a Steampunk Writing Contest; Win a “Clockwork Angel” Package!

clockwork angel prize package!
 I'm so excited for this contest set by novelnovice.com! A Steampunk Contest!

Especially after watching author Cassie Clare's special announcement Ustream yesterday (if you missed it see it here).

She announced there will be TWO more books added to the Shadowhunter's second cycle of the Mortal Instruments series. We already fell in love with the first trilogy; City of Bones , City of Ashes, and City of Glass, and now, she's writing the prequel trilolgy of the Shadowhunters...The Infernal Devices - beginning with The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1), due in stores August 31st, 2010. After which, she'll return to the Mortal Instruments series with: City of Fallen Angels (and TWO more following that coming in the next couple years!).

I can hardly wait!

I really did love the series and am so looking forward to reading The Clockwork Angel.

Even though it predates the Mortal Instruments, I think it will explain a lot of how and why the characters have "become" who they are and act the way they do. Plus, I can hardly wait to read more about angels, nephilim, and Shadowhunters in general...the tatoo runes are so cool!

There's some really cool artwork (for tattoos) if you're looking to have an angel rune tattooed on you at some point, check this out;

AND...Check this out; From NovelNovice.com and more about the contest:
I'm so looking forward to both of the newest trilogies from Cassie. I'm sure the Infernal Devices trilogy will be great, but I'm extra excited to hear about the two extra books --tho' I guess it only makes sense since she's got City of Fallen Angels for there to be two more added to the series to make it another trilogy. It wraps everything up nice and neat.

See Cassie Clare's Ustream with her special announcement and answers questions from readers chat from 8/4/2010 here.

Here's Cassie's webpage to read more.

Last Night's Healing for the Gulf and video

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful response for our call to healing.
See the video from last night's "OM Healing for the Gulf at Pine Island" I put together for the continued healing of the gulf. Cyndi Lauper's True Colors song set to a combination of my photographs, and a few from istockphoto.

Hi All,

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful response for our call to healing.

Below are confirmed places people will be gathering. This is our first gathering so it may be a bit difficult to find each other at first but we will get more organized, I am sure, as this goes on.

  • Venice Florida - Venice Beach Pavilion.
  • Maui Hawaii - Keawekapu Beach at the end of Kilohana
  • Sarasota, Florida - Siesta Key Beach meet near the drum circle
  • Weekie Wachee, Florida - Pine Island Beach - Manilla Drive

There are people all over the world that have expressed an interest in this. If you look on the event page on Facebook you may very well find someone near you. If not, spend some quiet time with yourself and the Universe and OM away. It's the vibration that heals.

We will be continuing this at the beginning of each full moon for quite a while, so keep coming back to see how things are progressing. And don't forget about the website http://www.omhealingforgulf.info/

Again, thank you all for your love and kindness.

10 Foods to Avoid that Could Blow Up Your Diet

The contents of your own cupboards and refrigerator could hold land mines — foods that can blow up your healthy eating plan...

Here are 10 foods to avoid — and suggestions for healthier substitutions:
  1. Sugary drinks. This means soda pop, sweetened tea and fruit-flavored punch drinks. Each 12-ounce can of pop has about 7 teaspoons of sugar and about 140 calories. Drink water instead.
  2. Processed lunch meats. And this includes sausages, hot dogs and bacon. They're high in fat and sodium — even those that say "lower" or "reduced." Instead cook a little extra meat, chicken or fish to use in sandwiches.
  3. White bread. Choose whole grain for more fiber. Don't be fooled by the color of the bread — it has nothing to do with it being whole grain. Look for the term "whole" on the label.
  4. Whole milk. Skip dairy products with "whole" on the packages. Look for "low-fat" instead.
  5. Canned or instant soup. They're pricey and loaded with salt — even the lower sodium versions. Make your own.
  6. Junk food snacks. Chips, crackers and "doodles." If they're in your kitchen they'll end up in your mouth. They may be labeled "low-fat" or "trans fat-free," but they still have plenty of salt and calories. Think fruit and veggies for snacks.
  7. Stick spreads. Butter and margarine in stick form are saturated fats — and stick margarine can have trans fat. Try trans-fat free tub spreads. Or better yet break the spread habit.
  8. White rice. Go for brown or wild rice. Replacing white rice with brown rice or other whole grains, such as whole wheat and barley, can lower your risk of type 2 diabetes.
  9. Yogurt — unless it's plain. Avoid ones that are loaded with fat and sugar. Choose plain, low-fat yogurt and add your own fruit.
  10. Processed cheese. "Cheese food," "cheese spread" and "cheese product" usually mean lots of fat and salt — and in some instances no cheese! Go for the real thing, but remember that moderation is key.
That's my list of food to avoid. What's on your list?

Bjork's song Earth Intruders from her 2007 Volta album (with lyrics)

This song says so much about how we treat our planet, and Bjork, well, being Bjork, has put her own strange spin on it giving life to her thoughts on how we've intruded upon our Earth's fragile systems with our pounding, marching, carnage. It's beautiful in it's own way, yet scarily haunting.
Have a listen and see what you think.

LYRICS For Bjork's Earth Intruders

We are the earth intruders
We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches

Turmoil, carnage

Here come the earth intruders
We are the paratroopers
Some beat of sharp shooters
Come straight from voodoo

With our feet thumping
With our feet marching
Grinding skeptics
Into the soil

Shower of goodness coming to end
The doubt pouring over
Shower of goodness coming to end

We are the earth intruders
We are the sharp shooters
Flock of parachuters
Necessary voodoo

I have guided my bones
Through some voltage
And love them still
And love them too

Metallic, carnage
Furiocity, feel the speed

We are the earth intruders
We are the sharp shooters
Flock of parachuters
Necessary voodoo

There is turmoil out there
Carnage, rambling
What is to do but dig
Dig bones out of earth

Mud graves, timber
Morbid trenches

Here come the earth intruders
There'll be no resistance
We are the canoneerers
Necessary voodoo

And the beast
With many heads
And the arms rolling
Steamroller

We are the earth intruders
We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches

Forgive us, tribe

We are the earth intruders
We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches

We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches

We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches
Marching

We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches
Marching, marching, marching, marching

30 Seconds To Mars - Kings and Queens Lyrics Full of Meaning

I'm loving 30 Seconds To Mars' newest single, "Kings and Queens"
omg, it's so good!
Even the lyrics have so much meaning;
See for yourself;

Into the night
Desperate and broken
The sound of a fight
Father has spoken

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell
Heaven and hell

Into your eyes
Hopeless and taken
We stole our new lives
Through blood and pain
In defense of our dreams
In defense of our dreams

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell
Heaven and hell

The age of man is over
A darkness comes and all
These lessons that we've learned here
Have only just begun

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell

We are the kings
We are the queens
We are the kings
We are the queens

Healing the Gulf; 10 Ways WE Can Help Google Search

(picture at left is called, "And Then There Was Light" by Emilie Leger ) beautiful, isn't it?
I felt like spreading the word today....
about Healing the Gulf...
So I did a google search for Healing the Gulf; 10 Ways WE Can Help ; ...below the Shine.com post, you'll find the results:

My Favorite Find for the question is a Blog post from Shine.com (yahoo-based) entitled;

Stop Blaming BP: 10 Things You Can Do to Help Clean Up the Gulf Oil Spill

Image via
Deepwater Horizon Response/Flickr
Image via Deepwater Horizon Response/Flickr
Looking for someone to blame about the devastating oil spill in the Gulf? Sure, you can blame BP (it is the company's fault after all) and you can blame President Obama too (even Jon Stewart has been doing more than his fair share of that). But while you're at it, you should take a good, long look in your rear-view mirror.

The United States is the largest consumer of oil on the planet. Americans burn 378 million gallons of gasoline a day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Agency. Our collective oil addiction makes us as much to blame for this mess as anyone. (And even if you disagree with that, you surely agree that something needs to be done -- and soon.)

More from The Stir: What the Gulf Oil Spill Means for Your Seafood

So instead of pointing fingers, take some responsibility and put your energy (pun intended) into something else.

Here, some ideas.

1. Admit you have a problem.
That's the first step in any addict's recovery. Repeat after me: My name is ____ (fill in the blank), and I am an oil addict. Then get on the road to recovery (preferably in a hybrid).
  • Stop driving. Carpool, ride a bike, use public transportation, and walk when you can. No excuses. Just do it.
  • Use alternate sources of energy. Think wind and solar power, and try alternate home-heating solutions (a wood-burning furnace can save you oil -- and money). Or talk to your local utility company. Many power providers offer green energy sources as an option on your bill. Visit the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Locator to see what options are available to you.
  • Lighten your carbon footprint. Use the EPA's Household Emissions Calculator to estimate your family's greenhouse gas emissions and find out how to cut back.

2. Hold someone's hand at the beach.
Hands Across the Sand is holding a national day of action on Saturday, June 26, to clean up America's energy and call on President Obama to get the U.S. off oil in 20 years. People in more than 500 communities across the globe will join hands at 11 a.m. to create a line in the sand against offshore drilling. To find or organize an event in your community, visit Hands Across the Sand.

3. Tune in to Larry King.
Tonight (June 21), CNN will be airing a two-hour telethon: "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help." The telethon will feature celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Tim McGraw, Lenny Kravitz, Pete Wentz, Jenny McCarthy, and many more. You can choose between three charities that you'd like to help -- the money raised will go to aid in rebuilding the Gulf Coast.
More from The Stir: The Oil Spill: A Much-Needed Wake-up Call?

4. Report oiled wildlife and oil damage. If you live (or you're vacationing or volunteering) along the Gulf Coast and you see wildlife in need of rescue or you notice oil damage to the environment, report it. You can do so online at Deepwater Horizon Response or by phone 866-557-1401 (for oiled wildlife), 800-440-0858 (for oil damage), or 866-448-5816 (for affected shorelines).

5. Don't boycott BP gas stations -- on second thought ...
No one is happy with BP (Tony Hayward is probably wishing he never accepted a job there -- though that didn't stop him from attending a yacht race this weekend), but refusing to buy gas at its service stations might actually be putting more money into the company's pockets.

  • According to The Consumerist, your corner BP station is but a licensed franchise owned by a local businessman, and the fuel that comes out of the pumps may be from a totally different company, so you might only be hurting the independent dealer.
  • If you opt for a supermarket gas station (such as Castrol, Arco, Aral, am/pm, Amoco, Wild Bean Cafe, and Safeway), it could be a wholly owned BP subsidiary in which case BP gets all the cash. (You can join the Facebook group Boycott BP for more info.)
  • If you do decide to boycott BP, some say it will simply be a political statement (and there's nothing wrong with that), but others, like Ryan Chittum at The Audit, believe that boycotting BP will make a dent on its returns.

6. Don't cut your hair (or your pet's).
While everyone who's been snipping their hair and grooming their pets for the cause has their heart in the right place, BP and the U.S. Coast Guard say they're not using hair to contain the oil spill -- and they don't plan to (they're using sorbent boom, which they have aplenty). Organizations who have been collecting hair, such as Matter of Trust, have been asked to stop doing so.

More from The Stir:
Do You Live the Green Life?

7. Plant a flag.
Go to Let's Move Beyond Oil to plant a virtual flag and on July 4. The organization will plant real flags in front of Washington Monument that spell out "Freedom From Oil" so that Congress and the White House are sure to see what the American people want.

8. Volunteer.
Many organizations in the Gulf of Mexico are looking for helping hands. Here are but a few.
  • The Audubon Society has launched the National Oil Spill Volunteer Response Center, which has lots of information on ways to get involved.
  • eBird, an online birding resource that tracks the health of bird populations, needs volunteers to help survey Gulf Coast bird populations.
  • In Louisiana, LA Gulf Response is coordinating volunteers to assist in local, state, and federal recovery efforts.
  • In Alabama, the Alabama Coastal Foundation wants volunteers for cleanup efforts along the Alabama coast if the oil spill reaches that state's shores.
  • In Florida, Save Our Seabirds is a bird rescue group looking for support to help oiled wildlife.

9. Adopt a bird.
At the International Bird Rescue Research Center, you can "adopt" a duck for $25 or an egret for $50; the birds will be cleaned and rehabilitated.

More from The Stir:
How Oiled Birds Are Cleaned

10. Text don't talk.
Put your money where your mouth is. Every time you play the blame game and say (or write in a comment somewhere -- wink, wink) "BP" or "Obama" or "Tony Hayward," put a dollar in a jar. (Or set aside all that money you've been saving on gas because you've been walking, carpooling, or using public transportation.) At the end of the month give it to some people who are actually making things happen:

  • Text the word "NWF" to 20222 to donate $10 to the National Wildlife Federation through your phone bill.
  • Donate to the United Way's Gulf Recovery Fund by going to its website or text the word "United" to 50555 to donate $10 from your mobile phone.
  • The Nature Conservancy Fund for Gulf Coast Restoration wants to re-establish critical habitats (marshes, seagrass beds, oyster reefs, and coastal wetlands). Text the word "coast" to 50555 to donate $10 through your mobile phone.

What have you done to help with the Gulf oil spill disaster? What will you do?

Important Info on E-Mail Tracker Programs and Great Tips To Reduce Junk Mail

I received this email today and thought it was good enough to share...
check this out!

I REALLY dislike being threatened by an email which TELLS me I HAVE to sent it on..Now I know what is happening!  WOW!!!    If I send it at all I send it BCC..which i hope does not give email addresses...as you should also.  No one likes to receive a forward with a page-long list of everyone in the world who has sent it, received it, forwarded it!  Let's see if this stops the 'threatening' ones which make us feel guilty for NOT sending it on....

E-Mail Tracker Programs --

The man that sent this information is a computer tech. He spends a lot of time clearing the junk off computers for people and listens to complaints about speed. All forwards are not bad, just some. Be sure you read the very last paragraph.
_________________________________________
He wrote:
By now, I suspect everyone is familiar with snopes.comand/or truthorfiction.com for determining whether information received via email is just that: true/false or fact/fiction.
Both are excellent sites.
Advice from snopes.com VERY IMPORTANT!!
1) Any time you see an email that says "forward this on to '10' (or however many) of your friends", "sign this petition", or "you'll get bad luck" or "you'll get good luck" or "you'll see something funny on your screen after you send it" or whatever --- it almost always has an email tracker program attached
that tracks the cookies and emails of those folks you forward to. The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active' email addresses to use in SPAM emails or sell to other spammers. Even when you get emails that demand you send the email on if you're not ashamed of God/Jesus --- that is email tracking, and they are playing on our conscience. These people don't care how they get your email addresses - just as long as they get them. Also, emails that talk about a
missing child or a child with an incurable disease "how would you feel if that was your child" --- email tracking. Ignore them and don't participate!
2) Almost all emails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to
that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of email is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking information for telemarketers and spammers-- to validate active email accounts for their own profitable purposes. You can do your Friends and Family members a GREAT favor by sending this information to them. You will be providing a service to your friends. And you will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam emails in the future! Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your
name(s) to those types of listing regardless how inviting they might sound! Or make you feel guilty if you don't! It's all about getting email addresses and nothing more. You may think you are supporting a GREAT
cause, but you are NOT! Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later and very possibly a virus attached! Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich! Let's not make it easy for them!
ALSO: Email petitions are NOT acceptable to Congress or any other organization - i.e. social security, etc. To be acceptable, petitions must have a "signed signature" and full address of the person signing the petition, so this is a waste of time and you are just helping the email trackers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tips for Handling Telemarketers Three Little Words That Work!!
(1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'
Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt. Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task. These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting..
(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the
other end? This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone. This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home. What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times as
quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!
(3) Junk Mail Help: When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away. When you get those 'preapproved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope. Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 44 cents postage, 'IF' and when they receive them back. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was around 50 cents before the last\ increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.
One of Andy Rooney 's (60 minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!If you want to remain
anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them. You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 44 cents. The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice! Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea! If enough people follow these tips, it will work ---- I have been doing this for years, and I get very little
junk mail anymore.
Is Using Dispersants on the BP Gulf Oil Spill Fighting Pollution with Pollution?
Is Using Dispersants on the BP Gulf Oil Spill Fighting Pollution with Pollution?
It remains unclear what impact chemical dispersants will have on sea life--and only the massive, uncontrolled experiment being run in the Gulf of Mexico will tell
How about, bottom line & supply respirators for workers!!
Please learn from one man's experience and
 do not end this spill cleanup with
workers as BP's Collateral Damaged.
One man's letter:
His letter to Gulf residents.
The crude oil is toxic, and anyone who cleans the oily
Gulf beaches needs to know the danger
Here's more:
My name is Merle Savage, a female general foreman during the Exxon Valdez oil spill (EVOS) beach cleanup in 1989. I am one of the 11,000+ cleanup workers, who is suffering from health issues from that toxic cleanup, without compensation from Exxon.
Dr. Riki Ott visited me in 2007 to explain about the toxic spraying on the beaches, and informed me that Exxon's medical records that surfaced in litigation by sick workers in 1994, had been sealed from the public, making it impossible to hold Exxon responsible for their actions. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5632208859935499100
Beach crews breathed in crude oil that splashed off the rocks and into the air -- the toxic exposure turned into chronic breathing conditions, central nervous system problems, neurological impairment, chronic respiratory disease, leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, liver damage, and blood disease. http://www.silenceinthesound.com/stories.shtml
My web site is devoted to searching for EVOS cleanup workers who were exposed to the toxic spraying, and are suffering from the same illnesses that I have. Our summer employment turned into a death sentence for many and a life
Mortal Instruments Author Cassandra Clare's Newest Nephilim Trilogy; Infernal Devices, Clockwork Angel Bk. 1 Review
 I for one, am a huge fan of Cassandra Clare. She's got a way of grabbing you by the innards and twisting until you scream for mercy. Her style of writing is just my type, and I adored her Mortal Instruments Trilogy. At it's end, I wanted more...no, needed more, and thank our lucky stars, she's answered our prayers with a new trilogy; Infernal Devices, with book one being Clockwork Angel coming out this August (2010). WOO HOO!Here's part of a review of said title from the Trades.com:
Clockwork Angel Lights Fuse for Heart-stopping Infernal Devices Trilogy Book Review: Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1)
As The Mortal Instruments trilogy was wrapping things up, author Cassandra Clare assured readers that there were still more stories to tell set in her world of Nephilim Shadowhunters -- an angel-created race of demon hunters who also dispatch a few vampires, warlocks and other Downworlders who decide to make trouble rather than live under a somewhat shakey peace accord.
Set a century prior to the events of The Mortal Instruments, Clockwork Angel takes the reader away from New York to the London Institute, run by a young Shadowhunter couple, Henry and Charlotte.  The focus of the story is Tessa Gray -- a sixteen year old girl with nothing left to her name, arriving in London on a steamer at the behest of her brother. But no sooner than she lands, she is abducted by a pair of warlocks who have nefarious plans for the girl. As a by-product of a murder investigation, Tessa makes the acquaintance of the dashing Will Herondale, a Shadowhunter following up some magic-involved killings of mundanes in Whitechapel.
Clare has successfully bottled lightning for a second time, and while one book does not a trilogy make, if the current tone and pace is maintained readers should have no concerns at all that the remainder of The Infernal Devices is going to be just as much of a non-stop thrill ride as was The Mortal Instruments.
Creating and Adding a Custom Background Image to Your " Blogger " Blog
Ok, so all day I've been playing around with customizing my new blog;
Angels & Aromatherapy.
here's the link;
...and having problems all day with the size of the background photo. It just wasn't fitting on the page ...it was waaay too small and I couldn't keep the original size no matter how I uploaded it. ...
Everytime I'd upload the pic from my computer (I made the background picture with photoshop at 1,600px × 1,097px). and each time I uploaded the pic to photobucket to get a link to add to the template
the photo didn't retain its proper size and ended up smaller on the blog...well,
I finally figured it out.
First I went to another blog I made (this one! chroniclestruthandmusings) and posted the picture here. as you can see below:
after posting then I right clicked on the pic and opened it  in new tab to get the web address and used the little zoom spyglass that comes up to make it original size,,,
this is the address of my background pic now:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_o1eDWmI3NZ4/TBKFNUY6HnI/AAAAAAAAAq0/mKfWFcSBjRA/s1600/1newangelsandaromatherapy.gif
then, I went back to angelsandaromatherapy blog to the "page elements", added a new box of html:
 I pasted the below html into the newly added box of html and walla!
here's the newest version of the background image with St. Germain in the background:)
Inspirationally Beautiful ; Brian Gaynor's Fireflies Audition SYTYCD Season 7
So You Think You Can Dance is one of my favorite shows and last night during Vegas Week's Auditions we were gifted an inspirational audition. Brian Gaynor appeared in Season 3's auditions and wowed judges, but of course with his scoliosis could not be a part of the regular show. This season, Nigel promised Brian and his crew would be invited to perform a spot on Season 7 with his troupe. Cool!
This guy is so inspirational; you have to see his performance to Owl City's Fireflies
Could this be the answer to What are YOU Hungry For?
What are you hungry for? Hint: It's not food. In fact, it's everything but food. This provocative new book reveals the self-defeating truth about dieting, while lighting the path to a full and healthy life.
Says Oprah, "This book is an opportunity to finally end the war with weight and unlock the door to freedom."
Here's a snippet:
In an excerpt from Women, Food, and God, Geneen Roth shares seven guidelines to eating more consciously.
* Eat when you are hungry.
* Eat sitting down in a calm environment. This does not include the car.
* Eat without distractions. Distractions include radio, television, newspapers, books, intense or anxiety-producing conversations or music.
* Eat what your body wants.
* Eat until you are satisfied.
* Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.
* Eat with enjoyment, gusto and pleasure.
FYI for Ehow Writers (now Demand Studio)
For those of us who have written for ehow in the past know that their format has changed and their parent company Demand Studio is now running the show, here's a little tidbit I found on their revenue sharing for NEW articles written for them and explains how your articles earn money
This is directly from Demand Studio terms of use;
The Revenue Share Program allows you to earn money for your articles contributed to and accepted by Demand Studios. In general, the factors that may affect how much money you may earn for your articles include, directly or indirectly, the following:
  • Popularity of the article;
  • Number and quality of inbound links to the article;
  • Topicality and newsworthiness of the article content;
  • Usefulness and applicability of the article content;
  • User response to your articles, such as positive reviews and comments;
  • Degree of specialization of the article content; and
  • Quality of the writing.
It also goes on to explain that Demand Studio owns all rights to your published work. Which basically means, if they want to they can use your work in whatever capacity they wish to make money for themselves, taking you, the writer, out of the equation.
I'm not sure how I feel about his whole thing. I do know one thing, I won't be writing alot for them.
    Eat Fruit to Cure Cancer, Stay Healthy and Lose Weight!
    Dr Stephen Mak is a friend of mine at the BSF course. He told me he treats terminal ill cancer patients by "un-orthodox" way and many patients recovered. He explains to me before he is using solar energy to clear the illnesses of his patients. He believes on natural healing in the body against illnesses. See the article below.
    Dear Shereen,
    Thanks for the email on fruits and juices. It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing cancer is about 80%. Cancer patients shouldn't die. The cure for cancer is already found. It is whether you believe it or not? I am sorry for the hundreds of cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments.. .
    Thanks and God bless.
    Dr Stephen Mak
    EATING FRUIT...
    We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.
    What is the correct way of eating fruits?
    IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
    If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
    FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
    In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....
    So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
    Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.
    There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.
    When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.
    But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!
    KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.
    APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.
    STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.
    ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.
    WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.
    GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.
    Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
    This is the best advice I've ever seen on eating fruit. Even if it isn't all factual or you don't believe in it, fruits and veges can help us be healthier, THAT'S a proven fact.
